Visual field coverage determines how much of the visual cortex map is stimulated. Larger stimuli (=higher visual field coverage) that cover more of the visual field activate a larger portion. For reconstruction research this matters greatly. When stimuli cover more of the visual field, voxels carry more fine-grained visual information, particularly in early visual cortex. Datasets with larger visual field coverage are therefore generally preferred for reconstruction.

These udev netlink messages are supposed to be sent with the credentials (process ID, user ID, group ID) of the sending process. libudev will not accept messages without this.
